The Clunbury Climate and Environment Group have written ‘The History of the Clunbury Parish land on the Black Hill’. It is a fascinating and detailed account which includes maps, photos, extracts from historic documents and newspaper cuttings. In addition to the historical aspects of enclosure and ownership, it includes some really unexpected events such as the capture of escaped prisoners of war and a proposed industrial development. There are two versions of the account. A full version, comprising eight sections and 38 pages in total, and a shorter version of seven pages.  These are available as attached documents.
